How Hussain Sajwani Built DAMAC Properties

Hussain Sajwani is a businessman and a philanthropist. He is the founder of DAMAC Properties, which is among the biggest real estate development companies in the Middle-East.

Born and raised in the UAE, he went to the U.S and attended the University of Washington. In 1981, he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Economics and Industrial Engineering. After graduation, he worked at Abu Dhabi Gas Industries Limited as a Contracts Manager. A year later, he opened up a catering business that served several institutions.

DAMAC Properties has developed and has achieved a lot. The company has an impressive resume and reputation of developing luxury apartments and hotels. The company has completed more than 17,000 projects and has over 40,000 more still in the planning and to be delivered in the future.

DAMAC Properties has also collaborated with notable fashion brands in the world in some of its projects. Versace and Fendi partnered with DAMAC Properties and handled the interior design of some of its apartments. Bugatti also collaborated with DAMAC and styled some luxury apartments and Paramount Hotel & Resorts.

Hussain Sajwani has also partnered with Donald Trump through the Trump Organization when developing the Tiger Woods’ designed golf course.

Hussain Sajwani mentioned the terms of the partnership, where the Trump Organization will handle the maintenance the golf course and DAMAC Properties will help in developing the golf course. The project has been considered a success by raking in over $2 billion in sales of luxury villas.

Hussain’s leadership and understanding of the market have made it possible for his company to grow and be able to compete with others in the region.

Other than being a businessman, Hussain likes to contribute to noble causes. He donated a million dinar that were aimed at clothing over two million children around the world. He also encourages young people to engage in entrepreneurship and play a crucial part in innovation.
